Aeromonas from farmed tambaqui from North Brazil: molecular identification and pathogenic potential

ABSTRACT: The aim of this study was to molecularly identify different species Aeromonas isolated from farmed tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) North Brazil, and evaluate their pathogenic potential by the presence virulence genes. From extraction bacterial DNA, PCR (polymerase chain reaction) primers 16S rDNA, aerA (cytolytic enterotoxin), ast (cytotoxic enterotoxin) act were performed. Of 24 isolates evaluated, eight amplified gene, one but areA gene not in any isolate. Sequencing rRNA primer revealed a predominance jandaei specie (92%). taiwanensis (4%), for first time fish hydrophila (4%) each appeared as just Results showed that 32% have considerable systemic damage, since selected are encoding most common genes with high intensity.
